Paving in Kilkenny Limestone - Waterpoort Antwerp (BE)

GroundDiamond cut, hand cut edges

Gedempte Zuiderdokken (phase 1), Waterpoort, Antwerp, Belgium

Have you visited the Waterpoort in Antwerp (BE) yet? Be sure to take a walk around this area when you are in the neighbourhood and be surprised by its stylish decor, with Kilkenny Limestone playing the lead role. The Waterpoort is one of the old Medieval city gates of Antwerp and also one of the neighborhood’s most recognized monuments. Because the gate has been ‘moving’ around the area in past decades, the gate is nicknamed 'the walking gate'. Recently, the entire Waterpoort area has been redesigned and has been transformed into a public space full of greenery, keeping its urban character. Kilkenny Limestone was applied around the gate in three finishes: diamond-sawn, dry-sanded and cleft. The gate is bordered by a larger square, constructed in a mix of 4 Chinese granites in a fixed pattern.
