  • Description:Dark grey to black, fine-grained granite (gabbro) with a uniform structure.
    Origin:India
    Material category:Granite

    Finishes

    3/3 selected
Flamed: The temperature shock after flaming the tile leads to natural cracking on the surface. This gives the natural stone a rough texture. Ideal for outdoor applications thanks to its anti-slip properties.
Honed: The surface of the natural stone is scoured until a warm, matt shine is obtained. The grain used for scouring determines the result obtained. Suitable for countless interior applications.
Letano: The natural colour of the granite is given extra emphasis with this original, matt finish. A ‘leather touch’ feel is created.

Black I & Black I Extra: deep black granite with character

Black I and Black I Extra are two varieties of the same Indian black granite, quarried from the same source, and both are supplied 100% guaranteed untreated. Black I has a very black background with a slightly coarser grain: from close up the grain structure is visible, but on a finished surface such as a kitchen worktop the stone appears remarkably dark and homogeneous, with typical small, pale flecks spread across the mass. Black I Extra has an even darker background and a finer grain, with typical small, fine flecks spread across the surface, and is also an excellent choice for tiles. Both materials are consistent in colour and availability from block to block.

Both materials are homogeneous and deep black in appearance. Black and white mineral concentrations, veins, or slight variation in grain structure within the same block or slab occur sporadically and carry no technical disadvantage whatsoever. Gold-coloured ore minerals, small specks that occur mainly in Black I, also carry no technical disadvantage and can be retouched with a black touch-up pen if desired.

    Why Black I?

    • Natural mineral concentrations and flecks have no technical disadvantage
