Breccia Botticelli: A Painting in Stone
Breccia Botticelli is an Italian marble wwith a multi-coloured palette of pink, green and beige tones, run through with expressive veins and angular fragments that form its characteristic brecciated structure. The stone lends itself to wall cladding, flooring and bathroom fit-outs. For demanding applications such as kitchen worktops, impregnation is recommended.
Breccia Botticelli is available in two finishes. The honed version develops a matt sheen without any mirror effect, allowing the colour transitions and breccia structure to come fully into their own. Brosso vecchio is an unusual, matt finish for marbles with a unique 'leather touch' feel.
What is Breccia?
The word breccia comes from Italian and means "broken stone". The term was used during the Renaissance by architects and stonemasons to describe decorative marbles made up of angular fragments, and was later adopted by geologists for any rock with the same structure: sharp, angular fragments bound together by a natural cement. The angular shape reveals that the fragments were deposited close to their source, and distinguishes a breccia from a conglomerate, whose fragments are rounded.

- Multi-coloured palette: pink, green and beige tones
- Two finishes: honed or Brosso Vecchio with a 'leather touch' feel
