Colonial White, Indian Granite with Black and Burgundy Accents
Colonial White is a granite from Rajasthan, India, with a bright white background that serves as a canvas for subtle accumulations in black and reddish tones. These concentrations of black minerals and burgundy garnets are locally distributed across the surface, creating natural and dynamic contrasts. Faint light green to light grey zones and a band to fan-shaped patterning add to its heterogeneous character: no two slabs are alike, even within the same block.
With its moderately coarse grain and pale colour palette, Colonial White is a strong alternative to the long scarce Kashmir White, with a slightly coarser texture. The material is mainly supplied as polished slabs, a finish that brings out its colours and veining at their most intense. Other finishes are possible on request.
Colonial White is designed for interior applications: kitchen worktops, window sills, indoor flooring, wall cladding, bathroom vanity units and stairs. Like all pale Indian granites, it has a naturally somewhat higher porosity, so an impregnation treatment is recommended for kitchen and bathroom use to keep the surface protected against stains and moisture.
