Crema Marfil Select: even cream-coloured marble from Alicante
Crema Marfil Select is a Spanish marble from Pinoso, in the province of Alicante. It is the selected grade of Crema Marfil: more uniform in colour, with fewer irregular veins and fossils, and usually slightly lighter in tone. The result is a calm cream-coloured surface with fine glass veins and the occasional darker vein, both part of this marble’s characteristic pattern.
Small natural cavities are filled during production with a two-component resin matched to the colour of the stone. Slabs have a synthetic mesh on the back that guards against breakage in transport. If you cut tiles from these slabs, remove the mesh before installation.
Crema Marfil Select is intended for interior use: floors, stairs, wall cladding, window sills and bathroom vanities. The marble is sensitive to moisture and should be installed as dry as possible, with a mortar adhesive on a dry screed. It is not naturally acid resistant, so we advise against it for kitchen worktops. If you do choose it for a tabletop or table, a honed or brushed finish keeps any etch marks less visible. Common finishes are polished and honed, with other finishes on request.
