Emerald Green Quartzite: A Statement in Green

Emerald Green is a Brazilian quartzite with a rich, layered green colour that ranges from deep emerald to forest tones, run through with beige, brown and golden veining. Every slab is unique, with organic, flowing patterns that give the stone a natural, grounded character. Supplied in a polished finish, the brilliant, mirror-like lustre intensifies the depth of the green and highlights the contrast of the veining. Technically, Emerald Green is a hard and dense quartzite with excellent resistance to heat, scratches and stains, performing well in demanding applications such as kitchen worktops, bathroom surfaces, statement walls and flooring. With proper sealing, it retains its beauty and structural integrity over the long term.

    Where the green comes from

The distinctive green colour of Emerald Green quartzite is caused by chlorite, a mineral rich in iron and aluminium that is naturally present in the stone. The intensity of the green can vary subtly from slab to slab, which is part of the material's character rather than a defect.

    Quartzite, not granite or marble

Emerald Green is sometimes marketed under other names, including "Emerald Green granite". Technically it is a quartzite, formed when sandstone was transformed under intense heat and pressure. That metamorphic origin gives it a hardness and durability that exceeds both granite and marble in everyday use. At Brachot, we supply Emerald Green under its correct geological designation, with documentation to match.
