Noce Veincut: Turkish Travertine with Linear Banding
Noce veincut is a light-brown to beige compact travertine quarried in Turkey, cut perpendicular to the sedimentary layers to reveal the parallel banding within the stone. This cutting direction transforms the material's pore structure into long, continuous lines running across the surface, creating a graphic, almost striped appearance that contrasts with the cloud-shaped pattern of Noce crosscut. The veined look reads as modern and architectural, working particularly well in contemporary interiors, feature walls, and projects where directionality and rhythm are part of the design.
The stone shares the same warm, walnut-tinted palette and geological family as its Italian counterpart Pietra Bicci, but the veincut presentation makes Noce read more linear and less organic. Standard finish is arenado, with other finishes available on demand.
Indoor flooring, stairs and wall cladding are typically installed filled, with pores closed using adapted grout for a smooth, even surface, though unfilled is equally possible for a more textured, natural look. For outdoor applications, pores are left unfilled to allow drainage and to preserve the natural open texture. Fossils may be present throughout the material.
