    Finishes

    3/3 selected
Anzano: A somewhat rougher finish, compared to matt or polished finishes, that nonetheless has an especially pleasant feel.
Flamed: The temperature shock after flaming the tile leads to natural cracking on the surface. This gives the natural stone a rough texture. Ideal for outdoor applications thanks to its anti-slip properties.
Honed: The surface of the natural stone is scoured until a warm, matt shine is obtained. The grain used for scouring determines the result obtained. Suitable for countless interior applications.

Rustenburg: speckled dark grey granite from South Africa

Rustenburg is a dark grey to black granite from South Africa, quarried in the Transvaal province in the region between Brits and Rustenburg. Internationally it is also known as Nero Impala or Impala Black. It is a coarse-grained, densely structured stone with a consistent dark charcoal base and fine, evenly distributed silver-grey flecks. Unlike granites with heavy veining, Rustenburg is valued for its uniformity, so slabs from different batches combine with a predictable result. The stone is quarried in two main regions, Brits and Rustenburg, each with its own typical grain and several quarries.

With a Mohs hardness of 6 to 7, water absorption below 0.4% and high compressive strength, Rustenburg resists scratches, heat and weathering. This makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, from kitchen worktops, flooring and cladding to memorials. The stone is offered in different types according to grain and use, including Rustenburg Top Medium, Rustenburg MS, Rustenburg Construction for heavier structural work, and Rustenburg Garden for patio applications.

For the finer-grained variant from Brachot Group's own quarry in the Brits region, available in large formats at an attractive price point, see the Nari Black material page.

    Why Rustenburg?

    • A consistent dark grey, speckled appearance with little veining, so slabs from different batches combine with a predictable result
    • Hard and durable, with a Mohs hardness of 6 to 7 and high compressive strength that resist scratches and heavy wear
    • Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, from worktops and flooring to patios, cladding and memorials
    • Low maintenance, as its dense structure resists stains, heat and general wear
    • Available in different types by grain and use, including Top Medium, Construction and Garden, plus Nari Black from Brachot Group's own quarry
