Steel Grey Granite: Full of Character, Built to Last Indoors and Out
Steel Grey is a dark grey granite from India, marked by larger dark grey to black minerals spread across the surface that catch the light. The combination of coarse, rectangular minerals set in a finer matrix gives this material a lively, natural structure that can vary slightly from block to block, and occasionally even within the same slab. Fine hairline cracks, veins and mineral concentrations are inherent to the stone and carry no technical drawback.
Slabs are typically resin treated, which fills fine pores and gives an even sheen. Thanks to its dense structure and high compressive strength, Steel Grey suits a kitchen worktop just as well as a driveway or patio, and the alligato finish brings out the coarse minerals to particularly striking effect.
Key Benefits of Steel Grey
- Strong and durable: high compressive strength (163.5 ± 12 MPa) and low water absorption (0.1%), built for intensive use
- Frost resistant: tested to EN 12371, suited to year-round outdoor applications
- Versatile: from kitchen worktops to driveways, patios and facade cladding
- Distinctive appearance: coarse, reflective minerals give every slab a unique, natural pattern
- Multiple finishes available: polished, letano, alligato, honed, or flamed (tiles)
