Tundra Grey: a Turkish marble with quiet character

Tundra Grey, also known as Savana Grey, is a Turkish marble quarried in the mountains around Afyon. It is valued for its soft, muted grey background and the delicate veining that runs across each surface in shades of white, light grey, and occasional hints of beige or taupe. The result is a calm, even stone with genuine character and structure, sometimes described as combining the warmth of the Emperador marbles with a cooler, more contemporary grey palette.

Every slab is unique. The natural variation in veining and tone means no two pieces of Tundra Grey are exactly alike, which gives the stone real depth when used across larger surfaces. We supply Tundra Grey exclusively in slabs.

    Applications

Tundra Grey is a versatile marble suited to a wide range of interior projects, equally at home in contemporary and more traditional schemes, and it pairs particularly well with cream-toned marbles for a warm, balanced contrast. The polished finish is best used as wall cladding; as a floor covering it is suited only to areas with low demands on wear resistance, such as bathrooms. Tundra Grey can also be applied as a kitchen worktop or shower surround, though it is less scratch- and acid-resistant than a material like granite. Choosing the right finish and following the appropriate care routine are therefore essential.

    Care and maintenance

Like all marbles, Tundra Grey benefits from a little care to keep it looking its best. Clean regularly with a mild, pH-neutral cleaner and avoid acidic or abrasive products, which can damage the surface. Sealing is recommended to protect against staining and to preserve the finish over time.
