Investing in solar energy: minimising our carbon footprint
One of Brachot's top priorities is preserving and protecting the environment. As part of our long-term strategy around sustainable business, we are committed to reducing our ecological footprint and actively contributing to global efforts to reduce carbon emissions. An important step in this is the switch to renewable energy sources such as solar energy.
Solar Panel Investments 2022-2024: A Commitment to Sustainable Production
As an international leader in natural stone and blended materials, we recognize our responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint and optimize energy consumption. Our investments in solar energy clearly reflect this vision, reinforcing our drive toward a more sustainable, low-carbon future.
A Strategic Shift to Renewable Energy
Between 2022 and 2024, Brachot has strategically invested in solar power across multiple production sites, including Belgium, France, Ireland, and South Africa. These investments support our goal of reducing CO2 emissions, lowering operational costs, and ensuring a stable, sustainable energy supply for our manufacturing processes.
With a combined annual energy production of 2,800,868 kWh, our solar installations generate the equivalent of the yearly electricity consumption of 700 European households. The clean energy harnessed is directly utilized on-site, powering our production machinery and lighting systems, thereby significantly reducing our reliance on external electricity sources.

A Holistic Approach to Sustainability
Brachot’s solar panel installations are a fundamental step in our journey toward sustainable production. The estimated €450,000 in annual energy savings enhances our ability to invest further in environmentally responsible initiatives, while significantly lowering our CO2 emissions.
However, we are not stopping at solar energy. Recognizing the need for diverse renewable energy sources, we are also in the process of securing a permit for a wind turbine at our Deinze facility in Belgium. This initiative, in collaboration with Luminus, will further bolster our transition toward green energy.
By prioritizing renewable energy and resource efficiency, Brachot is setting new standards in sustainable manufacturing. We remain dedicated to continuous innovation, ensuring that our operations not only honour our rich heritage but also contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future for generations to come.
