Lasa Dune: white Italian marble from the heart of the Alps

Lasa Dune is an Italian marble from Lasa, in the Stelvio National Park. It is not extracted from an open quarry but from inside the mountain, through a network of tunnels and galleries. The material consists of crystalline calcite and is around four hundred million years old.

Lasa Dune has a sugary, white-beige base with brown to dark veins. In the Dune version, these veins run across the surface in soft, wavy lines, like ridges in a sand dune landscape. The result is a light, calm marble with clear character.

Thanks to its low porosity (0.3%) and low water absorption (0.1%), Lasa Dune is well suited to indoor applications such as worktops, wall cladding, stairs, bathrooms and shower walls. Floors are also possible, in areas with limited wear. Outdoors, you can use Lasa Dune as façade cladding. As calcite is the main mineral, the material is more sensitive to scratches and acids than granite or quartzite.
