Perlato Europa: pearly limestone with a classic fossil pattern
Perlato Europa is a white-beige, fossil-rich compact limestone from Croatia, classified commercially as a marble. The name "perlato" comes from the Italian word for "pearly": cross-sections of fossil shells and crustaceans appear as round, light inclusions in the fine calcite matrix. Scattered larger fossil fragments and fine, darker veins give each slab its own distinctive pattern.
With its warm, neutral base tone, Perlato Europa belongs to the family of classic Southern European perlato varieties, positioned as an accessible European alternative. The stone combines a refined fossil structure with a compact, dense composition and low water absorption, making it remarkably robust within its material class.
Brachot supplies Perlato Europa in a brosso vecchio finish: an exceptionally matt finish with a unique leather touch feel. This finish softens the sheen, accentuates the natural texture of the fossils and gives the surface a gentle, lived-in character.
Perlato Europa is suited to flooring, wall cladding, staircases and bathrooms, and to any interior calling for a warm, classic natural stone look with a contemporary matt touch.
